ONLINE Summer Cooking Class 2018

Does your child love to cook or bake, but can’t make it to our cooking school in Minnesota? No worries, join our brand new online cooking class every Tuesday morning this summer.

Kids love it because they can learn to cook or bake right in your own kitchen.

Parents love it because it’s a great way to get them out of bed during the summer and we teach them how to clean up during class.

Plus, wouldn’t it be great if they had dinner ready for you when you got home???

Each week they will learn something new. You will also have access to our online membership class where we will be hosting the class and providing lots of materials and fun interactive activities to keep them cooking and baking all summer.

What Ages Can Register For Classes?

Our intention for this first session of online classes is to provide upper middle school and high school students something fun to do this summer.

We assume that if you sign your child up for this class, then you are comfortable with them using the kitchen and it’s tools alone - or provide the appropriate assistance by an older sibling, nanny, or adult.

Parents and siblings are welcome to supervise or participate in the class as well if you are not comfortable with them using the kitchen alone.

If you have more than one child that would like to participate, register all of your children, but only add one class to your cart. The $15 class fee is by family, but we want to be able to communicate and provide materials for each child.

This is our first online class at the Kids Cooking School, but Chef Tiffany and Chef Julie have decades of experience teaching online. We can't wait to work with your children in this new venue.

How Does An Online Cooking Class Work?

When you sign up for a class, you will receive a confirmation email that includes a calendar reminder and the link to our webinar software where we will go LIVE ten minutes before each class.

One week before each class you will receive an email describing anything you need to prepare for a class.

For example, if we are working on decorating techniques, they will need to have a cake available to decorate. Some classes will include the cake, but we have a couple of advanced frosting classes planned for later in the summer.

You will receive a second email the day before class (Monday) to remind everyone about preparing for class on Tuesday.

On the day of class you will receive an email from our webinar software again with the link to the webinar.

We recommend that you setup a tablet or laptop in the kitchen where you can watch and cook at the same time at least 10 minutes ahead of class.

You can watch from any device that has internet access, but the bigger your screen, the easier it will be to see what we are doing.

During class we will pause at each step to allow a reasonable amount of time for everyone to complete each step and ask questions.

At the end of class we will have cleanup time and encourage everyone to leave their kitchen cleaner than they found it.

Chef Tiffany and/or Chef Julie will remain online for 30 minutes after class for Q&A. You can also submit questions in our private Facebook group.

Lastly, to encourage full participation, we will award bonus points for students to accumulate and use towards prizes for things like showing up on time, submitting photos of their cleaned kitchen, photos of their completed work, and many other fun activities.

What Recipes Will You Make During Class?

Each week will be a different recipe. We are going to start with a Geode Cake and take suggestions from the students for future class recipes.

We want this to be personalized for the people in class. So if you are in the first class, you will have an opportunity to suggest a recipe. You will also be able to make suggestions through our membership website or the Facebook group.

When Are Classes Offered?

Classes are Tuesdays from 9am - 12pm, with Q&A from 12:00 - 12:30. You can sign up for individual classes at your convenience.

After a few classes, we will determine if there is enough interest to add more classes.

How Much Does It Cost?

We are offering an introductory price of $15/class per family. Save $10 when you spend $75 or more.

Questions? You can Contact Chef Tiffany with any questions you have about any class.

Registration Tip - when you click the link below, there is a filter on the left side of your screen where you can click "Online Classes" to filter out all of the in-person classes.
